Established in 2012 and comprised of young designers Matthias Weber, Niklaus Hodel and Florian Feder, the WHF trio possesses a shared work experience of over two decades in fashion, and offers an uncompromising, fashionable product that fuses artisanal savoir-faire with industry expertise. Presented in a straight forward appearance far from the luxury industries well known polished image. The young designers hail from both Germany and Switzerland, and are all former students of the Fashion Department at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the city where their company is based. The exhibition FOOTPRINT displays the MoMu shoe collection supplemented with over 400 unique items from the archives of designers, collectors and international museums. Running the gamut from the otherworldly contemporary designs to 19th century carved wooden clogs: this show highlights the innovative and bold approach of these shoe designs. Accompanied with a catalogue that tells the story of some of the most influential designers in shoe history. Such as: Maison Margiela, Dries Van Noten, Manolo Blahnik, Prada, Christian Louboutin, Tokio Kumagaï, Roger Vivier, André Perugia, Vivienne Westwood, Salvatore Ferragamo, Patrick Cox, Raf Simons and Azzedine Alaîa.
Taking inspiration from countless trips to the shoe factories in Italy «Prodotti Locali» is the first interactive installation of WeberHodelFeder. And open to the public for seven days straight, starting from the 4th of September in the lobby of MoMu - Fashion Museum province of Antwerp at Nationalestraat 28.
